Hilton Head first opened in 1975 and was a 40-bed community hospital. Since then, they have expanded into a 93-bed medical center and a major health care facility serving the communities from Hilton Head Island to Bluffton. This facility received an A+ rating in the LeapFrog Group's Spring 2015 Safety Score, the Silver Performance Achievement GWTG Treatment of acute myocardial infarction patients, and the Heart Failure Gold-Plus Quality Achievement award to name a few.
