n 1988, Dr. Cris Mandry, a residency-trained and board-certified Emergency Physician, founded C&M Medical Services to provide high-quality and dedicated Emergency Physician staffing and management services in Louisiana. C&M is a regional physician group of over 150 physicians practicing only in Louisiana. We are one of Louisiana’s leading providers of clinical emergency department physician staffing and management services, in both the private and public sector. To better serve its clients throughout Louisiana, C&M maintains offices in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
In 1992, Dr. Mandry and C&M, in partnership with the LSU School of Medicine and Earl K. Long Medical Center established the LSU Emergency Medicine Residency Training Program in Baton Rouge. Dr. Mandry was the founding program director and is currently Chief of the department of Emergency Medicine for LSU at Earl K. Long Medical Center. To date Dr Mandry's program has graduated over 180 emergency physicians of which approximately half have remained in Louisiana.
C&M Medical Services received the National Public Hospital Association “Safety Net” Award for “decreased waiting time for pediatric patients in a general emergency department by altering pediatric triage criteria.” This award was honored by the Louisiana State Legislature and serves as an example of our group's commitment to the practice of emergency medicine.
In 1995 C&M established a Life Support Training Program which continues to provide monthly educational courses in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support for its physicians and the staff of its partnered facilities. In addition to our life support training program we present periodic seminars on various emergency services topics such as EMTALA updates, emergency department charge capture and coding, and electronic medical record utilization in the emergency department.
Our physicians are actively involved in community, state and national legislative affairs and have actively served on many medical society committees. The principal medical directors of C&M are all residency-trained and board certified in Emergency Medicine. A point of pride for our group is the involvement our medical directors have had with the Louisiana chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Each member of our board have served as President of LaACEP for at least one term.
