Major Responsibility of Perioperative Service System Coordinator is to assist the Nurse Manager/Director of Perioperative Services in the development, implementation, and evaluation of on-going operative information systems which assure operational efficiency and to help to implementation of the mission, vision, philosophy, core values and standards of practice for all staff on their Department or Unit. Serve as a catalyst and role model, provides leadership and direction. Facilitate an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among the department personnel and other disciplines, also with the healthcare community. The System Coordinator is accountable for operative information systems and must create learning experiences that are open, respectful and promote the sharing of expertise. This ability to enhance the practice environment is critical the recruitment and retention of all staff. During an emergency situation when all attempts have been made to cover the shift, the System Coordinator may be asked to assist with OR coverage.
7-10 years of direct experience in the field as a licensed NJ RN and a BSN with 2- years experience in a nursing acute care leadership role or must be enrolled in a BSN program in NLN accredited school, must be completed within the 1st year of starting the Nurse Manager role. Current American Heart Association CPR/BLS and ACLS required. Critical Care experience, National certification, and a masters degree preferred. Unit Specific Certification will be required.
