Provides professional nephrology nursing care to patients requiring renal replacement therapies and plasmapheresis therapies and/or Stem Cell Collections. Plans, implements and evaluates the nursing plan of care. The Acute Dialysis/Apheresis Staff Nurse II functions as an essential member of the nursing and multidisciplinary team providing direct care to patients and families. Provides initial and ongoing patient and family education.
State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter. Current internal RNs are strongly encouraged to pursue a BSN to support this initiative.
Minimum 2 year medical/surgical or critical care nursing experience. Demonstrates the ability to perform the skills required of an Acute Dialysis/Apheresis Staff Nurse II.
