The Department of Surgery at the University of Arizona-Tucson seeks to recruit an academic abdominal multi-organ transplant surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful applicant will have an interest in pursuing a career focused on kidney, liver and pancreas transplantation. Responsibilities are broad and include deceased and living donor kidney transplantation, liver transplantation, pancreas transplantation, dialysis access procedures and general surgical procedures for patients with end organ failure. The position involves active participation in a multi-disciplinary team that manages patients through the entire transplant process. The transplant program has active programs in heart, lung, liver, pancreas and kidney transplantation. Banner University Medical Center's transplant volume has doubled each of the past two years. Qualifications and Essential Functions
- BC/BE in General Surgery
- Completed ASTS accredited Abdominal Organ Transplant Fellowship
- Valid AZ license (or eligible to receive)
- Candidates with an interest and experience in living donor transplantation, including paired exchange transplants are preferred
- Training in multi-organ procurement, kidney, liver and pancreas transplantation is essential
- Applicants should have demonstrated skill and interest in teaching learners at all levels
- Opportunities for research as well as leadership development are available
