Job Description
The Director, Quality for the East Division oversees the Quality Program, including regulatory compliant operations and the effectiveness of the quality assessment and performance improvement for all hospitals in their region. Works closely with other regional Quality Directors to ensure organization-wide sharing, deployment and alignment of best practice processes to drive, achieve and sustain clinical excellence goals across the health system. Collaborates with physicians and all levels of leadership to develop and sustain a robust clinical documentation improvement program and medical record integrity across regional areas of responsibility. Provides leadership and guidance to managers, assisting with identification of any patterns or trends, or significant opportunities for improvement. Oversight of continued regulatory readiness activities and collaborates with system VP Clinical Excellence to coordinate and align medical staff peer review activities. Manages the regional operational, budgetary and financial responsibilities and activities. Evaluates performance and professional development of direct reports, and holds self and team accountable for the development and achievement of measurable performance goals. Required experience includes 5 years of clinical experience in acute care setting AND 2 years quality or performance improvement related activity AND 2 years in management. - ? ? ? ? ? Leads, facilitates and advises internal improvement teams related to quality and safety - ? ? ? Provides Oversight of local Quality Council structure, in addition to system-wide alignment of structure, content and deliverables, ensures compliance with standardized schedule, reporting format, physician participation, and effective involvement of hospital Quality Manager in the Accountability model - ? ? ? Represents Quality Division in the cadence of accountability. Liaison for quality at all leadership levels, including local Board of Directors. Supports the hospital president and CMO in quality reporting and ensures consistent system-wide presentation format for SMT through BOD level meetings - ? ? ? Ensures aligned physician quality reporting through collaboration with system CMO and hospital CMO. Prepares and provides continuous updates on PI opportunity with system CMO and hospital CMO - ? ? ? Oversees performance indicators and improvement initiatives for payor based incentive contracts - ? ? ? Provides Oversight of local Quest 2020/Performance Improvement work - ensures Quality Managers are actively participating in QUEST2020 collaborative, effectively using the learning library of best practices, leveraging top performers in the cohort for solutions and monitoring the QUEST2020 dashboard for improvement opportunities - ? ? ? Fosters physician engagement in Clinical Documentation Improvement overseeing program integrity, compliance and ongoing attainment of program goals - ? ? ? Ensures leader visibility and two way communication with team members. Fosters a culture of shared governance and engagement, ensuring equitable management practices, modeling and promoting a just culture - ? ? ? Uses innovative solutions to resolve barriers. Identifies and eliminates non-value added activity, in constant pursuit of efficiency - ? ? ? Collaborates with Leadership and medical staff to ensure CMS compliant operational, clinical and physical environment standards are consistently maintained - ? ? ? Supports regional Regulatory Manager as needed to ensure assigned hospitals implement necessary changes or practices to be in continued readiness. Ensures standardized and hardwired processes to ensure continued compliance with all standards
