Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced pediatric general surgeon to join our busy six-surgeon group and assume the role of Division Chief of Pediatric Surgery. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in all areas of general pediatric surgical care, possess enhanced expertise in minimally invasive surgery and exhibit exemplary administrative and leadership skills. Candidates must be board certified in pediatric surgery and have at least five years of leadership experience.
An enthusiastic commitment to teaching general surgery residents and medical students is a must, as a new pediatric residency program will welcome its inaugural class in the summer of 2018, with a surgical residency planned for the following year. Candidates should be committed to furthering their clinical research initiatives with the support of Memorial’s Office of Human Research, which currently oversees more than 120 studies across the healthcare system. Faculty appointments at Florida Atlantic University and/or Florida International University are also available.
This is a full-time employed position with the multispecialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
