Assistant or Associate Professor
Advanced Cardiac Imaging


Tulane University Heart and Vascular Institute seeks a qualified Advanced Heart Cardiac Imaging physician to join its faculty as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine. This position will be responsible for the instruction and teaching of cardiology fellows and for patient care at three hospitals and multiple clinic sites in the Greater New Orleans Area.

Clinical Responsibilities:
- Cardiac Imaging at Tulane Medical Center, the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System and University Medical Center New Orleans, including cardiology consults, critical care services, and diagnostic imaging.
- Outpatient clinic responsibilities at these sites and other outreach clinics as assigned.
- Weekend and after hours hospital service in rotation with other faculty.

Teaching Responsibilities:
- Teaching responsibilities will include formal and informal teaching activities for medicine residents, cardiology fellows, and medical students as well as attending, facilitating and presenting cardiology conferences.

Research Duties:
- Developing and participating in clinical and translational research, and encouraging residents and fellows to participate with you in these studies.
- Publication of findings in peer-review journals is expected, and at least one publication per year is encouraged.

Requirements & Preferences:
- M.D. who has successfully completed a Cardiac Imaging fellowship program
- Board certified or board eligible
- Eligible for a Louisiana Medical License

As a University employed faculty member, you will receive a negotiable salary commensurate with experience, and a fully comprehensive benefits package, and relocation allowance.

Cultural offerings include symphony, theater, opera, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the nationally-acclaimed D-day Museum, the world-class Audubon Zoo and the Aquarium of the Americas. The city is also home to the New Orleans Saints NFL football team, and the New Orleans Zephyrs AAA baseball team, and the New Orleans Brass Ice Hockey Team. Cultural and recreational opportunities abound. Residents may take advantage of numerous recreational programs and facilities. Both Audubon Park and City Park are within easy reach of the medical school. Tickets to Tulane University football and basketball games are free to Tulane University students and are available at discounted prices to members of the University community.

Southeast Louisiana's proximity to the Gulf of Mexico and its abundant bayous, lakes, and rivers make it a paradise for seafood lovers. The world-famous cuisine of this city, a unique blend of French, Spanish, Caribbean, African, Latin American and Southern US influences, is served in restaurants ranging from elegant, old-line establishments to small, family owned ethnic and neighborhood favorites. New Orleans is an extremely affordable city. Reasonably priced housing of all kinds is widely available.
