Performs routine, complex and special Neurodiagnostic examinations for patients as directed, providing physicians diagnostic tools with which to treat patients.
-Must have four years of technical Neurodiagnostic experience.
Equivalent Education and/or Experience
-May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for the experience requirements.
-Must be registered by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologist (ABRET) as a registered EEG Technologist (REEGT). OR
-Must be registered by ABRET as a Registered Evoked Potential Technologist (REPT), OR
-Must be certified by ABRET in Neurophysiological Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM). OR
-Must be registered by American Society of Electrodiagnostic Technologist (AAET) as a Registered Electrodiagnostic Technologist (REDT).OR
-Must be registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).
-Must have a current Heartsaver CPR course completion card within 90 days of hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:
oAmerican Heart Association
oAmerican Red Cross Rescuer
oMilitary Training Network.
Skills or Special Abilities:
-Must be able to perform routine and advanced Neurodiagnostic procedures
-independently following established department procedures.
-Must be able to respond appropriately in all patient-related situations.
-Must be able to assist physicians during procedures requiring specialized techniques.
-Must be able to work with personal computers including word processing, spread
-sheets and databases.
-Must have good communication skills necessary in handling difficult and severely ill
-Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
-Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors
