The Team – The Hospital

Sound Critical Care is seeking exceptionally qualified candidates to join our intensivist program in the heart of beautiful Napa Valley. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established team, especially for those with an interest in advanced cardiac ICU. Housing is provided while clinical, which allows our team to live anywhere in Northern California and commute in!

Adventist Health St Helena Hospital is a 151-bed, non-profit, regional referral center for cardiac services, outpatient surgery, obstetrics, occupational medicine, neurology, orthopedics, pain rehabilitation, plastic and reconstructive surgery, sleep diagnostics, and more. The hospital is among the top 100 Cardiovascular hospitals in the country – invasive surgery and robotic technology, and received Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade “A” for fall 2021.

  • Team of 3 physicians
  • 12 bed ICU – Efficiently run program with advanced cardiac care including balloon pump, impella, and vascular intervention; ECMO is available
  • Strong hospitalist program, ICU nursing, psychiatry, and general surgery programs; Dedicated critical care pharmacists
  • 75% of admissions are transfers to St Helena from helicopter or ambulance. St Helena has at least 1 open heart per day, often 2, based on Monday-Friday surgeries
  • Schedule: 7am-5pm + night call from home
  • Free housing is provided!

Education, Training & Experience Required

  • MD or DO
  • Must be BC or BE in critical care medicine; Active CA license strongly preferred
  • Eligible to work in the United States; Not a J1 visa qualified area.
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Must have a commitment to excellence in clinical service, be forward-thinking and demonstrate problem-solving abilities necessary in this environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform all technical skills in the critical care setting
