Job Description:
Regional Medical Center of San Jose has an exciting opportunity for a CT Surgery PA to join our growing practice.

Qualified Candidates:
The Physician Assistants in our Cardiothoracic Surgery department are valued members of a dynamic team on the front-line of patient care. This position requires an individual who is qualified to function as the first assistant in cardiac surgery, thoracic surgeries, and cardiac assist device implantation. It also requires an established level of proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting. The Physician Assistant will obtain patient history, perform physical examinations, order and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, formulate a diagnostic impression, develop and implement a treatment plan, monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and offer counseling and education to meet patient’s needs.  Other points of interest include:
• Surgical 1st assisting is a primary responsibility
• Increased autonomy
• Call rotation
• Weekday/Weekend evening beeper on-call for OR and step-down unit
• Weekend patient rounds when on-call
• No in-house call
• Dedicated ARNP for perioperative patient care on step-down unit Monday -Friday
• Current surgical CV PA’s with 2-plus years of surgical experience in cardiothoracic surgery
• Outstanding working relationship between physicians and the midlevel practitioners

Good Samaritan (Good Sam) Hospital: acute care 429-bed hospital serving San Jose, Silicon Valley and surrounding counties in two locations: main campus in San Jose and Mission Oaks campus in Los Gatos.
