Recruiting Chief of Pediatric Neurology for University of South Alabama at the Rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor

The Department of Neurology at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, in Mobile, Alabama, is searching for a Chief of the Division of Pediatric Neurology, open rank, who will direct and expand the Division of Pediatric Neurology. 

The Division supervises Pediatric Neurological services in the largest regional pediatric hospital, provides specialty outpatient care, responsible for teaching neurology residents and medical students, and conduct clinical research activities.  The successful candidate will supervise existing activities and be responsible for expanding the clinical expertise and research capabilities of the Division.  It is critical that the Division Chief work closely with hospital and departmental leadership in managing the Pediatric service line, including the achievement of quality measures and innovation in the delivery of care. 

The department has three pediatric neurologists and is recruiting one additional pediatric neurologist as well as the Chief for the department.  The department has a four-year categorical adult neurology residency program with plans to start pediatric neurology residency. 

Candidate must have ABPN Certification in Neurology, with added qualifications in Pediatric Neurology.  Subspecialty fellowship training and/or subspecialty certification is also strongly desired.  Excellent opportunities are available for career development, including collaborative activities, resources, and time allocation for research. 

They are offering highly competitive salaries for these positions.  The Chief position is paying a salary of $350,000 to $400,000. The city of Mobile is a progressive, mid-sized port city of rich and unique culture located on the Gulf Coast of Alabama.  Lapped by the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, with a rich industrial and shipping heritage nourished by Mobile Bay, decked with azaleas and canopied by stately oaks, Mobile County has long been a thriving port serving all of Alabama.  While manufacturing declines across much of the U.S., Mobile leads the state and much of the nation in attracting new manufacturing.  Mobile has had a 33% increase in manufacturing sector jobs in the last five years.  The city is home to Airbus, the first U.S.-based commercial aircraft manufacturing facility, Continental Motors, Austal USA, global ship builder, and the Coast Guard Aviation Training Center.  In addition to the University of South Alabama, the city is home to Mobile University and Spring Hill College.
