Job Description

Ascension St. John Health System is searching for a BC/BE Cardiovascular Surgeon to join our highly skilled team. Ascension St. John Medical Center (ASJMC) is the core of our northeastern OK health system. With over 96 sites throughout the state and into southern Kansas, we are continuing to build and expand our team of dedicated surgeons and surgical support staff.

Our patients are provided with advanced treatment options and procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting, open or minimally invasive valve repair and/or replacement, ascending aortic arch aneurysms/aortic root repair-replacement, esophageal and diaphragmatic surgery/or stenting, vascular and thoracic surgery. The CT team, which includes experienced vascular/cardiac surgeons and cardiologists, develops the best treatment plans to provide outstanding care to our patients and families.

Qualifications

  • BC/BE thoracic surgeon with completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Surgery fellowship
  • 5+ years post-advanced fellowship experience
  • Provide at last 2 years of STS data identifying the case type and overall quality of work performed
  • Excellent surgical skills applicable to a tertiary referral center’s patient population including a broad array of complex cardiovascular and thoracic disease including but not limited to Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting, Valve repair and/or replacement - open and minimally invasive, Structural Heart Disease, experience with the heart team approach, Aortic repair/replacement and Arrhythmia Surgery

Additional non-requisite procedural skills

  • Vascular Surgery - open and/or endovascular repair
  • Thoracic Surgery - open, VAT and robotic
  • Esophageal and diaphragmatic surgery and stenting
