Harris Regional Hospital, a Duke LifePoint Hospital in Sylva, North Carolina (45min outside Asheville) is growing with the addition of a full-time BC/BE Cardiologist to strengthen our established team. Those who are currently practicing or are currently in training can be considered.

- Join Haywood Cardiology Group, a hospital owned Cardiology practice
- Best of both worlds; part of the established group in Clyde while practicing autonomously at the established clinic in Sylva
- Group consists of physicians and mid-levels
- Inpatient and outpatient with shared call
The Community
Bryson City is the county seat of Swain County, which has a population of 14,500. Bryson City borders the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and provides several entrances to the park in addition to a multitude of outdoor recreation opportunities. Landmarks surrounding Bryson City include the Cherokee Indian Reservation, Nantahala River/Nantahala Gorge, Fontana Lake and Fontana Dam. A picturesque and memorable downtown features one-of-a-kind shopping and dining experiences as well as the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. Southwestern Community College, which has been ranked among the top community colleges nationally, has a campus in Swain County, just west of Bryson City.
Recreation
As a gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Swain County features miles of hiking and biking trails as well as nearby campsites and horseback riding opportunities. Rivers surrounding the area include the Nantahala, Tuckasegee and Oconaluftee, all of which provide recreational and fishing options. Bryson City is known for whitewater rafting and offers a variety of outfitters providing guided rafting, kayaking and canoeing trips. The Tsali Recreation Area trail system has some of the best bike trails in the region.
Located 50 minutes west of Asheville, North Carolina, Sylva is the county seat of Jackson County. It features a beautiful region filled with mountain trails and waterfalls as well as a unique Main Street district anchored by hometown shops and restaurants. The Sylva area is home to Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, which recently attained an all-time high enrollment of 10,000 students, and Southwestern Community College which has earned national rankings as one of the best community colleges.
Harris Regional Hospital, established in 1925, is an 86-bed acute and specialty care facility serving the western North Carolina counties of Jackson, Swain, Graham, and Macon as well as parts of North Georgia. The hospital offers two dozen medical specialties, and its major service lines include women’s care, orthopaedics, general surgery, cardiology and emergency medicine. The hospital serves as a medical hub for patients from around the region with more than half of the hospital’s patients coming from outside Jackson County. In addition, Harris Regional Hospital operates an urgent care in Sylva and an outpatient facility in Franklin, North Carolina.
