Matrix Providers is hiring a Pharmacist to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at TPC Virginia Beach in Virginia Beach, VA.
- Employment Status: PRN
- Compensation: This is an hourly position.
- Schedule: Monday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday- Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The clinic is open on all Federal Holidays. Services on shifts longer than six (6) hours shall be authorized a thirty (30) minute meal break. Shifts include a compensated meal break when the healthcare worker is the sole Pharmacist and cannot physically leave the work site.
- Current Schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. but is subject to return to its listed initial Monday - Sunday schedule.

Requirements: The Pharmacist must have and meet the following:
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
- Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation
Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) approved continuing education of at least 15 hours, maintaining pharmacy skills and knowledge in the preceding two (2) years. - Experience:
- One year of professional pharmacy experience within the preceding 24 months.
- Experience in the use of pharmacy computer systems, such as the Navy
TRIPHARM Computer System, the Composite Health Care System (CHCS), or retail pharmacy computer systems.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or the Red Cross. Web-based classes do not meet these standards.
- Recommendation Letters: Must provide two (2) recommendation letters written within the last 2 years attesting to the healthcare worker's clinical skills. The letters must be from a practicing Pharmacist who has personally observed and evaluated the Pharmacist applying for this position.
Job Summary:
- Perform a full range of pharmacist procedures
- Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the facility's personnel, supply, and equipment capabilities
- Counsel patients regarding the appropriate use of medications.
- Review patient profiles at the time of dispensing to monitor medication therapy closely.
- Ensure prescription directions for use, dose, medication interactions, therapeutic duplications or overlaps, allergy information, age-specific dosage, and other pertinent data are appropriate for individual patients. Intervention with providers shall be made for noted discrepancies of the above-listed items.
- Compound medications as required.
- Ensure the accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.
- Supervise inventory control of all pharmaceuticals in the pharmacy, especially scheduled pharmaceuticals, and ensure pharmacy security. Maintain appropriate records and security of all scheduled controlled substances according to applicable regulations.
