Requirements:

- Copy of Post Graduate Training in FM/EM/IM/GP
- Minimum of one year post-graduate clinical experience (correctional medicine preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Provide medically necessary primary care and chronic disease management to adult offenders housed at the facility.
- Perform physical assessments, routine sick calls, chronic care follow-ups, intake evaluations, and urgent care for acute conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results in accordance with the facility's clinical protocols.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and ensure appropriate documentation within the HERO (EMR) system.
- Prescribe medications in compliance with the facility's approved formulary and medical guidelines.
- Coordinate care with nursing staff, behavioral health providers, and other clinical personnel within the facility.
- Ensure continuity of care through appropriate referrals and discharge planning, including communication with outside hospitals when necessary.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first-line response during on-site incidents.
- Participate in quality assurance and peer review processes as required by the facilty.
- Comply with all institutional, departmental, and state/federal regulations and policies related to correctional healthcare delivery.
