JOB OVERVIEW

  • Coverage Type: Clinical Only
  • Coverage Period: 11/3/2025 Ongoing (initial 3-month assignment)
  • Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon Fri, 7:30a 5:30p (810 hour shifts) COVERAGE DATES
  • 3 days per week, for 3 months (12 shifts/month estimated)
  • Start date: 11/3/2025

PATIENT INFORMATION
  • Patient Demographics: Adult Oncology
  • Admissions: Yes, as required for oncology patients
  • Rounding: Yes, hospital rounding as needed
  • Case Mix: Medical Oncology (consults, admissions, follow-ups, multidisciplinary cancer care)

FACILITY INFORMATION
  • Trauma Level: Level I
  • EMR System: Epic
  • Specialty Backup Available: Multidisciplinary cancer team support
  • Support Staff: Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support
  • Reason for Coverage: New position; launching new Medical Oncology practice
  • Privileges: Full Privileges; Temporary Privileges available

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
  • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes
  • Credentialing Timeline: 60 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered
  • Rate: TBD REQUIRED PROCEDURES
  • Provide consultations, admissions, and follow-up oncology care
  • Conduct hospital rounding as needed
  • Collaborate with APPs for consults, follow-ups, orders, and patient management

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active Illinois license
  • Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology
  • DEA: Active DEA required
  • Certifications: ACLS required; CSR license required
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
  • Other Qualifications: Ability to coordinate care with multidisciplinary cancer team

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide direct patient care including consultations, admissions, and follow-up care
  • Conduct hospital rounding as needed
  • Collaborate with in-practice APPs for patient management
  • Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary cancer team
  • Provide coverage when the PRN Medical Oncologist is not on-site
