**Assignment Details**
- Weekend call coverage only
- Coverage runs Friday at 5:00pm through Monday at 7:00am
- May include extended coverage through Tuesday at 7:00am on select weekends
- January through June coverage dates available
- Practice setting is hospital call with outpatient and inpatient responsibilities
- Epic EMR
- Estimated credentialing timeframe approximately 90 days

**Clinical Details**
- Adult patient population
- Hospital and outpatient gastroenterology
- Laboratory and X-ray services onsite
- Average of approximately eight procedures per weekend
- Procedures include upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery or laser hemostasis, variceal injection and banding, PEG placement, diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP
- Endoscopic ultrasound preferred
- Colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy
- Sigmoidoscopy
- Lower GI endoscopy
- Small bowel biopsy
- Liver biopsy
- Esophageal dilatation and manometry with interpretation
- Insertion and management of Sengstaken–Blakemore tube
- Procedural mix includes general GI, hepatology, surgery consults, colonoscopy, EGD, and ERCP

**Requirements**
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Active Virginia medical license
- ERCP experience required
- Endoscopic ultrasound experience preferred
- Clean malpractice history required for temporary privileges
- Ability to cover available weekend shifts required
- Flu vaccination required
- COVID vaccination highly preferred
- Must meet Virginia malpractice coverage requirement of 2.6M

**Compensation**
