We’re looking for a PA to join a General Surgery team in Walla Walla, WA, on a locum tenens basis to provide inpatient clinical coverage and help keep the service running smoothly. This is a supplemental role from August 31, 2026 through December 31, 2026, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (40 hours/week).
What you’ll be doing
- Assist in the OR as a first assist in general surgery cases
- Round on inpatients and manage daily care
- Prepare discharges and coordinate transitions of care
- Admit patients when required
- Expected patient volume: about 7 patients/day
Setting and support
- Facility: Hospital in Walla Walla, WA (Stroke Certified)
- Service setting: Inpatient (Trauma Level III)
- EMR: Epic
- Support: 1 PA/NP on staff
- Coverage type: Clinical only
Logistics and compensation
- Shift schedule: M–F, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Pay rate: TBD; bids accepted (clinic pay includes regular, orientation, overtime, and holiday)
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance will be provided/covered
Required qualifications
- Active Washington license or Universal License under IMLC
- Board certified
