About Twin Cities Community Hospital
Twin Cities Community Hospital, a 122-bed acute care hospital that is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, has been caring for the communities of Northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Twin Cities has the county’s largest Emergency Department and, in addition to an array of medical, surgical and outpatient services, has San Luis Obispo County’s only hospital-based Wound Care Clinic. Among its awards, Twin Cities Community Hospital earned Advanced Certification as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission and Gold Plus Stroke honors from the American Heart Association. Baby-Friendly USA designated Twin Cities as an internationally-recognized Baby-Friendly birth facility and maternity honors include being designated a Blue Distinction Center and being named to the California Health and Human Services Agency (CHHS) and Cal Hospital Compare Maternity Honor Roll for excellence in maternity care. Twin Cities was the first hospital in San Luis Obispo County to earn the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality “Leader” designation from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and has earned an “A” from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade.
