HCA Behavioral Health Services (BHS) is one of the fastest growing service lines within HCA and one of the nation’s largest acute care psychiatric providers. HCA BHS operates behavioral services at 55 locations, with a total bed count of over 2,500. BHS serves all age populations: 57% adult, 21% geriatric, 13% child and adolescent, and 9% dedicated to specialty services such as substance abuse and eating disorders.
Given the high incidence rate of behavioral health disorders and the significant impact on our community, HCA began an initiative in 2008 to develop a strategic approach to these services with the goals to:
•Strategically partner with hospital affiliates to improve the management of behavioral health services
•Align behavioral health services with other services and systems within HCA to leverage synergies and improve patient outcomes
•Identify meaningful growth opportunities and institute a platform for increased effectiveness and collaboration through existing HCA behavioral health services
Located within the hospital, the Pavilion at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is an acute inpatient adult stabilization unit with experienced staff dedicated to the delivery of high quality, compassionate psychiatric services. Also, located on the 2nd floor of the medical office building of the hospital, is our Intensive Outpatient Services. This program consists of group therapy and educational sessions. The Intensive Outpatient Program offers treatment for: Mood Disorders, Depression, Behavior Health Issues.
Memorial Hospital is also proud to announce it has expanded its behavior health services to include specialized care for older adults. The hospitals has opened an inpatient geriatric behavior health unit named The Senior Pavilion. This unit is staffed with physicians who are specially trained in geriatric medicine. This is a 14-bed unit.
We are seeking an inpatient psychiatrist for our growing program. Currently we have 3 psychiatrists on staff as well as 2 Nurse Practitioners. This position offers a desirable 7 on / 7 off schedule and call is 1:4 during the week on.
This position is an employed position and offers a very competitive base salary with bonus potential and an excellent benefits package.
