Memorial Healthcare System is looking to add psychiatrists to its established adult inpatient and consultation psychiatric programs. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated physicians to be involved in a fully supported program in a large and recognized dynamic healthcare system. This is also a particularly exciting time to join the Memorial Healthcare System’s Department of Psychiatry, as plans are underway to develop an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency training program to welcome its inaugural class of PGY-1 residents in July of 2019. Of particular interest are candidates with a passion for teaching and a strong interest in shaping the didactic curriculum of a premiere training program for the benefit of future generations of psychiatrists.
The inpatient department is on the Memorial Regional Hospital campus, allowing patients access to critical care and emergency treatment services should the need arise. The department currently has 53 adult beds and averages more than 2,000 admissions per year.
The successful candidates will provide treatment for the adult psychiatric inpatient units, as well as consultations in the Emergency Department and the general hospital, and should meet the following qualifications:
BE/BC in psychiatry with addiction medicine experience and/or training
Experience in psychiatric evaluation and medication management
Strong interest in teaching and fostering learning in trainees
Experience and strong interest in academic pursuits, such as presenting at conferences and/or
publishing in peer-reviewed journals
These are full-time employed positions with the multispecialty Memorial Physician Group. The positions offer competitive benefits and compensation packages that are commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
