The Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) Division of Hematology-Oncology is seeking applicants for full-time clinical and academic faculty positions to join an expanding multi-disciplinary team within the CAMC Institute of Academic Medicine and Department of Medicine. As part of a planned growth initiative, CAMC desires to advance access and services to the region and to establish a focus on academic medicine within the Division of Hematology Oncology, including the development of an ACGME approved fellowship program. They are strategically positioned to seek multiple positions with flexibility for allocations of clinical care, education/teaching, and academic functions. Faculty/Clinical faculty at all academic rank and experience levels are encouraged to apply.
This is an Employed position $705,278 annual salary plus 100k sign bonus, relocation allowance, Thirty days off (not including CME), Generous CME allowance,401K with matching contribution, Health and Occurrence based malpractice coverage
Under the auspices of the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine, CAMC is a growing academic medical center sponsoring 14 accredited medical residencies and fellowship programs; 3 pharmacy residency programs; a doctoral clinical psychology internship and a doctoral level School of Nurse Anesthesia. Their strategic plan includes expansion of their GME programs in a number of disciplines as well as a growing portfolio of research programs and initiatives. CAMC is home to two regional medical school campuses hosting 160 full-time 3rd and 4th year medical students on site and serves as clinical training site for over 1500 health sciences students. A new Center for Learning and Research is under construction that will house a 14,000 square foot simulation center and other facilities dedicated to their education and research programs. With over 350 active research protocols and clinical trials, the CAMC research program is accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRP), which recognizes institutional “commitment and scientifically and ethically sound research and to continuous improvement.” CAMC has major affiliations with West Virginia University and the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and our strong academic programs offer a balanced experience in both private practice and academia.
Located in southern West Virginia CAMC is the top health care provider with four hospitals and over 700 physicians serving approximately 31% of the total population of the state. CAMC is home to one of the highest volume heart programs in the nation, the state’s only kidney transplant center, a Level I trauma center, the region’s largest Level III neonatal intensive care unit, a Level I pediatric intensive care unit, and the only freestanding children’s hospital in West Virginia.
