Trauma Surgery Opportunity In West Jacksonville, Florida
A hospital in southwest Jacksonville is seeking a Trauma Surgeon to join our dynamic trauma and acute care surgery team with the only trauma center in Clay County.?
About the Trauma Group:?
- Fulltime role with 14 shifts per month: 12-hour primary in-house coverage, plus 12-hour back-up (rarely called in)?
- The acute care surgery team has six advanced practice professionals, with 24-hour APP coverage?
- General surgery and emergency medicine residents rotate on the service?
- The program participates in TQIP and TQIP collaboratives?
- 2,000+ trauma patients in 2021?
- Covers all general surgery call for the hospital?
Qualified Candidates:?
- Board certified in General Surgery and fellowship trained in Surgical Critical Care?
- Have, or be able to obtain, an unrestricted license to practice in Florida - not subject to any restrictions, probationary terms, or conditions?
- No history of license to practice being revoked, restricted, or suspended by any professional licensing agency in any state or jurisdiction?
- Have current, unrestricted DEA registration?

- A level II trauma center, full-service, acute-care hospital with 365 beds including 10 ORs and 28 ICU beds?
- Ongoing expansion projects for 408 total inpatient beds, and an additional 20-bed ICU?
- 44-bed emergency department with 2 dedicated trauma bays with 112,000 annual patient visits?
- 9 ACGME residencies/fellowships including general surgery and emergency medicine?
