Matrix Providers is hiring a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS/ARRT) to join our team of talented professionals who provide healthcare services to our Military Service Members and their families at Mountain Home AFB, Mountain Home, ID.

  • Employment Status: Full-time
  • Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The employee will not exceed 40 hrs/per week.

Requirements: The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS/ARRT) must have and meet the following:

  • Education and Degree: Certificate
    • Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a sonographer academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Certification:
    • Certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Experience: One (1) year of full-time experience within the last two (2) years as a sonographer.

Job Summary:

  • Correlate the patient's clinical history with the requested examination to be performed and obtain the results from previous pertinent diagnostic tests to correlate with the ultrasound study.
  • Consult with staff physicians from various specialties such as obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology, and surgery regarding the patient's pertinent past medical history, preliminary diagnosis, and condition, so it correlates with the ultrasound examination.
  • Recognize normal anatomic variants. Also, recognize anatomic changes created by medical and surgical procedures.
  • Document arrival, departure, and completed tests as required by MTF policy. Send the appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to MTF protocol.
  • Perform system warm-ups, calibrations, and quality control tasks according to manufacturer and MTF policy. Recognize artifacts and equipment errors and notify designated Government personnel of outlying values.
  • Explain the process to the patient and instruct and assist the patient in assuming the physical position for examination.
  • Assist in the compiling and archiving of records for procedures performed
  • Observe and report any symptoms that directly affect the patient's condition due to adverse reactions to contrast media and inform the radiologist of any condition requiring his/her attention. Recognize the need for and initiate emergency measures for critical respiratory or cardiac arrest situations.
  • Identify abnormalities during testing and determine the need for additional scans of the affected area.
  • Receive patients, explain procedures, and provide appropriate care. Correctly position the patient for the examination and make adjustments necessary for the required examination. Determine if any special patient preparation is required.
  • Operate ultrasound scanners. Operated the linear, sector, and endovaginal probes and provided scanners' pulse and color Doppler capabilities.
  • Receive and interpret requests or instructions for diagnostic ultrasound scans; perform assigned quality control checks of the ultrasound scanners. 
  • Perform a full range of ultrasonic diagnostic examinations including but not limited to: obstetrical sonography, including imaging of all fetal anatomy to obtain accurate dating and growth parameters and evaluate for fetal abnormalities and problems with the pregnancy; pelvic sonography, including imaging of all pelvic anatomy to attain accurate assessment of suspected pathology; and endovaginal sonography exams to obtain an accurate assessment of suspected pelvic pathology; abdominal sonography to include all significant organs and systems of the abdomen; small parts sonography to include scans of the breast, thyroid, and testicles; and limited vascular sonography to include carotid, aortic and lower extremity venous duplex scans.
  • Performs complex sonographic scanning on all anatomical areas for in-utero, neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Assists radiologists and physicians in performing invasive diagnostic techniques such as biopsies, aspirations, and intraoperative localization of lesions or other similar procedures.
