Employed Endocrinology Opportunity with Carilion Clinic – Roanoke, VA
Carilion Clinic is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Endocrinologist to join four other Endocrinologists in the Section of Endocrinology in the Department of Medicine. Our mission is to provide excellent diabetes and endocrine care for the people we serve, excellent education of those we teach, and excellent and meaningful research to better our community.
We serve as the Endocrinology teaching Service for the internal medicine residency which has a total of 69 residents. We provide a full spectrum of adult services, including diabetes, lipid disorders, pituitary, bone, and thyroid disease with support from a large primary care and specialty referral base. Inpatient teaching services are available for consultation at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 703 bed Level I Trauma and academic center. Our Diabetic Teaching Center includes on-site education, an insulin pump program, lab testing, and dynamic testing, with extended services such as podiatry and wound care available. We also provide comprehensive thyroid cancer management and pituitary tumor management in collaboration with surgery, pathology, and radiology. Faculty appointments are through the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Additional research opportunities are possible in the Section and in collaboration with the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute. The Endocrinology practice, VTCSOM, and FBRI are on the same campus, across from the flagship hospital
