HSI has served the community for over 50 years by providing patients with a full range of quality comprehensive services. We have 11 clinics located throughout the River Region, 2 mobile clinics, and 4 school-based clinics in partnership with Montgomery Public Schools.

We're currently searching for a Dentist to join our team. HSI Dentists provide compassionate and safe patient care to our dental patients.

Dentists perform the following duties:

• Examines and properly diagnoses patients and makes treatment plans.
• Obtains and records medical/dental history pertinent to determining diagnosis.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill in interpreting intra- and extra-oral and panographic radiographs.
• Treats diseases and pathoses of the hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity.
• Demonstrates specific clinical skills and understanding in operative dentistry, oral surgery, prosthetic dentistry, endodontics, periodontics, and preventive dentistry.
• Appropriately prescribe necessary drugs pre- and post-operatively.
• Administers local anesthesia and analgesia as needed.
• Renders emergency care as needed.
• Assists in maintenance of dental records, encounter forms and other required paperwork.
• Document legibly and completely in the treatment rendered section of the dental record the procedure performed, materials used, anesthesia given, drugs prescribed, referrals made and a signature.
• Document legibly and completely the encounter form procedure section with the provider number, number of procedures performed, reason for return visit, and any special instructions.
• Document legibly and completely the procedure/treatment section of the 3rd party payment form and make sure it is signed.

Education and Experience:

• Hold a degree in dentistry from a school accredited by the American Dental Association.
• Licensed to practice dentistry in the State of Alabama.
• Hold a current Controlled Substance Registration certificate, Department of Justice and Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama.
• Previous work experience in the dental care of patients, either private practice or employed position.
