Job Description

Emergency Medicine Physician (ABEM) - Wisconsin

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (ABEM) to join our dynamic healthcare team in Wisconsin. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional medical care to our diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency medicine, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Duties:

  1. Patient Care:
    • Conduct thorough patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and provide appropriate medical services.
    • Collaborate with clinical departments for comprehensive patient care management.
    • Adhere to medical ethics, policies, and protocols, ensuring the highest standards of care.
    • Facilitate patient transfers to ensure access to skilled medical care when needed.
  1. Team Leadership:
    • Manage and coach a team of healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient care.
    • Foster a positive working relationship with other members of the medical staff and hospital employees.
  1. Quality Improvement:
    • Consult with the Quality Director to enhance clinical outcomes and improve the quality of patient care.
    • Work towards achieving hospital goals related to patient, employee, and physician satisfaction.
  1. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with urgent care providers for seamless patient care across all hospital areas.
    • Communicate effectively with referring or accepting physicians, patients, and families regarding patient status.
  1. Compliance and Professionalism:
    • Obtain and maintain all required medical staff appointments and clinical privileges.
    • Comply with Medical Staff, Joint Commission, and other accrediting agency standards.
    • Cooperate with the hospital in implementing new procedures, controls, and systems.
  1. Public Relations:
    • Promote and maintain good public relations on behalf of the hospital, acting as a "goodwill ambassador."
  1. Supervisory Role:
    • Serve as the Supervising Physician for Physician Assistants and Collaborating Physician for Nurse Practitioners.
    • Participate in the chart review process, providing mentorship and feedback to Advanced Practice Providers.
    • Conduct orientation for newly hired Advanced Practice Providers.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Board-certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Practice/Internal Medicine with 3-5 years of ED experience, or Board Eligible with certification within one year of employment.
  • Maintain current ACLS, PALS, ATLS certifications.
