Psychiatrist
Job Summary:
As a Psychiatrist I at National Health Services, Inc., this role reports directly to the Medical Director and holds a pivotal position in delivering psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to our outpatient population.
Responsibilities encompass conducting psychiatric examinations and evaluations, making diagnoses, prescribing therapy, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
The Psychiatrist I is also tasked with maintaining accurate medical records, preparing reports, and actively contributing to the development of psychiatric programs and policies.
Job Duties:
- Provide psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to patients.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric examinations and evaluations.
- Formulate diagnoses and prescribe appropriate therapy.
- Lead individual and group psychotherapy sessions.
- Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, and community agency professionals on psychiatric aspects of patient care.
- Engage in consultations with patients' relatives to discuss illness and treatment.
- Maintain meticulous medical records and generate reports.
- Contribute to the establishment of psychiatric programs and policies.
- Fulfill additional duties as required by funding agencies or as directed by National Health Services, Inc. Management and Board of Directors, including:

- (a) Acquiring familiarity with Federal and State rules, regulations, and practices in a Community Health Center.
- (b) Understanding Federal and State Healthcare program requirements and assisting in their implementation.
- (c) Contributing to the development of the healthcare plan, reviewing program requirements, and recommending changes as necessary.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Medical Director.
- Demonstrate the ability to relate to the public irrespective of ethnic, religious, and economic status.
