DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Addiction Medicine Physician is primarily responsible for participating in the multi-disciplinary process of providing care and treatment to patients with diagnoses substance use disorders. The Physician provides the full scope of services which fall under his/her field of training, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance to patients. The Addiction Medicine Physician is responsible for ensuring delivery of exceptional services that are focused on client needs while also upholding all ethical and best-practice standards.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:
- Clinical Evaluation and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments and clinical evaluations of patients with substance use disorders.
- Provide accurate diagnoses based on clinical findings and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): Prescribe and manage medication-assisted treatment for patients with substance use disorders, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens as needed, with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Subspecialty board certification in addiction psychiatry from the American Board of Medical Specialties; or Addiction certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine; or Certification by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM); or Subspecialty board certification in - - Addiction Medicine from the American Osteopathic Association.
- Graduate of approved medical school with Board Certification.
- Unencumbered New York State License to practice medicine
- At least 3 years proven successful experience as a practicing clinician with experience in the diagnosis and treatment of substance use disorders, including familiarity with evidence-based practices
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a federal and state narcotic registration (DEA License).
- Strong community health/public health orientation, experienced in patient care management, and demonstrates managed health care knowledge and experience.
- Diagnoses and patient visit coding experience.
- Knowledge of or experience with healthcare information systems, such as electronic health record and practice management systems experience; EClinicalWorks preferred
- Strong commitment health professions ethics including principles of social justice, empowerment, and self-determination of individuals
- Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment, work primarily independently and self-directed, take initiative and use good judgement
- Intermediate PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Office 365)
