Locums Forensic Pathology Physician
We are seeking a dedicated
Locum Tenens Forensic Pathologist to join our team in Greenville, NC. This
position offers an exciting opportunity to work a leading academic medical
center with a regional medical examiner facility.
Greenville is a vibrant
city located in the eastern part of North Carolina. It serves as the county
seat of Pitt County and is known for its thriving economy, diverse culture, and
strong sense of community.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- On the days cases are performed,
preparation begins at 8:00 am, with the last cases of the day completed
prior to 4:00 pm for cleaning and tidying.
Opportunity Highlights:
- 974-bed level 1 trauma center.
- Regional Medical Examiner facility
associated with an Academic Medical Center.
- No night shifts.
- Over 90% of autopsies are forensic
cases, with the remainder being hospital-associated.
- Autopsy procedures are performed with
the assistance of an autopsy assistant.
- Approximately 4 to 6 cases per day, with
1 to 3 autopsies per day depending on complexity.
- Remote options for testimony are
becoming more common for legal proceedings.
Requirements:
- Medical degree from an accredited
medical school.
- Board certification in Anatomic Pathology.
- Board eligibility or fellowship training in Forensic Pathology.
