NP needed in California for General Surgery coverage CPH# JOB-2930328

Nurse Practitioner needed in California for Pediatric General Surgery coverage. Must be Board Certified, have current DEA, and CA state license. Rounding, NICU/PICU consults, OR first assist when time allows. Shifts will be full time hours; Monday-Friday, with some week night/weekend call (usually 1-2 nights per week and 1 weekend per month). There are usually 40-60 inpatients for rounding each day, divided amongst a team of 6-8. Must be comfortable with minor procedures including but not limited to; gastrostomy tube changes, chest tube removal, peritoneal drain removals, wound care, and cecostomy tube changes. Outpatient clinic- post-op follow-ups and same day urgent appointments. On average 5-10 patients both in person and phone follow-ups. Support staff includes 6 APPs, 1-2 surgical residents.
