Family Medicine Job In Abilene, Texas
Family Practice Without OB
- Schedule: 8A-5P; Monday-Friday; with every 6th weekday on call (5P-8A on call hours)
- Assignment: 3-month minimum
- This is for a case load of around 35 people. Usually see no more than 10 patients a day for acute illness, injury or follow-up. Day is spent with clinics, interdisciplinary team meetings, annual and interval medical assessments.
- On-Call: About 95% of call is managed by telephone, and rarely requires a return to campus. When on call for the weekend/holiday, they must come in and perform Infirmary rounds (16 bed Infirmary for acute and chronic care) and evaluate any acute illness or injuries among residents. The remainder of the time will be via phone.
- Must have an absolutely clean record – no history of sanctions by the Board.
- Must have current Texas License; DEA; NPI; and CPR/BLS.
- Prefer someone with experience in treating those with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities. Prefer someone familiar with electronic health record, particularly Cerner.
