Job Summary:

Hospital based Orthopaedic service line is seeking an energetic and motivated APP to join a well-established and cohesive group for employment of Parham Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Qualified Candidates:
  • Primary role is first response to the ED when Orthopaedic consultation is requested, including any orthopaedic injury or illness.
  • Performing history and physical examinations, hospital rounding, floor consultations, admissions and discharges.
  • First assisting in the operating room, ordering and interpreting radiographic and laboratory data
  • Joint aspiration/injection, reduction of fractures/dislocations, application of casts and splints
  • Developing appropriate treatment plans in accordance with Virginia state law and established treatment protocols with the Orthopaedic surgeon
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential as well as basic computer competence
  • Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience of direct patient care as an Orthopaedic APP who enjoys autonomy while collaborating with Orthopaedic Surgeons, Hospitalists, Emergency Room physicians, APPs and Nurses providing world class care to patients and their families.
  • Must be board-certified 
  • Virginia licensure or ability to obtain

About Parham Doctors' Hospital

The Parham Campus, located in Richmond's West End on Parham Road near Broad Street, is a 200-bed acute care hospital also acredited by the joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO). HDH-Parham provides excellence in emergency and traditional acute care hospital services, as well as advanced care in orthopedics, physcial rehabilitation, oncology, minimally invasive surgery, and diagnostic imaging. Among the many specialty programs available are a 36-bed inpatient physical rehabilitation unit (treating patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, stroke, cardiac or neurological complications and amputation); a Sleep Center (providing diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies to patients in a private and comfortable setting) and an accredited Cancer Care Program.
