Job Title: Supply Chain Technician 1

Location: Chicago, IL

Job Duration: 13 weeks with possibility of contract-to-hire

Available schedules: Day Shift (07:00 AM - 03:30 PM), Mid Shift (03:00 PM - 11:30 PM), or Night Shift (11:00 PM - 07:30 AM), each 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Job Description:

The Supply Chain Tech 1 is responsible for the day-to-day receipt and distribution of supplies to the medical center units and affiliates. This individual will promote and be supportive of the institutional ICARE values (Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence), the IConnect Service Behaviors, and exemplify Supply Chain's mission and vision, while acting in accordance with Client policies and procedures. The Supply Chain Tech 1 is typically assigned to 1 of 4 primary functions; supply re-stock (patient care areas), order sort & distribution (Central Supply), resupply cart stocking (CSUP Resupply area), and shipping/receiving (Receiving dock). Each of the aforementioned primary functions carries several sub-functions, some of which are described below. These assignments are determined based on departmental needs, and can be changed without any prior notice being provided.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive, pack, and unpack items to be stocked and/or delivered on shelves/bins/Point of Use locations (i.e. in Central Supply, storerooms, units, and any off-site locations).
  • Receive and/or count stock items with accuracy and correctly record data manually or using the computer.
  • Verify established inventory par levels by comparing them to actual physical counts and re-order replenishment stock accordingly.
  • Ensure accuracy of received supplies by counting and comparing packing lists/restock lists with delivered goods and inspect for damage, defects, or breaking and report any of these issues to the supervisor.
  • Must meet established Supply Chain Policy #1 job performance standards and all scheduled timelines.
  • Loads and offloads AGV system supply carts and appropriately parks/stages carts for next utilization.
  • Must be able to use AGV system touch screen correctly to send cart types to scheduled location.
  • Clean and maintain shelves within stocking areas and work-station areas to ensure compliance with safety and infection control regulations.
  • Answer all telephone calls in accordance to the department's telephone script, ensuring calls are properly answered and appropriate actions are followed in a timely manner.
  • Apply ICARE and IConnect in all interactions between inter/intra departments. Performs any and all Supply Chain job functions as assigned or required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • One year working experience in a service industry position or equivalent job experience.
  • Must have basic math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Must be able to operate powered equipment appropriately and safely as required by varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks with deadlines to meet changing workload demands.
  • Familiarity with personal computers preferred.
