A well-established healthcare system in Southern Illinois is seeking an experienced Physiatrist Medical Director to lead a 29-bed inpatient Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) department. This leadership role offers the opportunity to blend clinical practice with administrative responsibilities while playing a key part in the development of a growing outpatient therapy clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Oversight: Supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
Medical Leadership: Ensure compliance with CMS regulations and maintain high standards of care in the inpatient rehab unit.
Program Development: Lead the creation and expansion of an outpatient physiatry clinic.
Mentorship: Guide and support a team of physiatrists in their clinical and professional development.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships between nursing and therapy teams to enhance coordination and outcomes.
Operational Efficiency: Apply expertise to improve the admissions and discharge processes for rehab patients.
Qualifications:
Board-certified Physiatrist with significant PM&R experience
Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills in a healthcare setting
Strong understanding of CMS regulations and compliance standards
Prior experience in developing outpatient physiatry programs is preferred
