Salary Range: $270,000 - $350,400 annually

Opportunity Overview
A healthcare system in Upstate New York is seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician to serve as the Founding Program Director for a new Rural Family Medicine Residency Program.
Key Highlights
Launch and lead a new ACGME-accredited Rural Family Medicine Residency Program (anticipated accreditation: early 2025)
First class of 2 residents expected to begin July 2026
Residents will primarily train at a rural hospital site, with select rotations at an affiliated urban teaching hospital (approx. 50-minute drive)
Facility includes a busy ED, Labor & Delivery, and outpatient pediatrics ideal for full-spectrum family medicine training
Work alongside experienced leadership including a DIO, VP of Medical Affairs, and seasoned core faculty
Position Responsibilities
50% FTE for residency administration, teaching, and supervision
Develop and implement ACGME-compliant curriculum
Supervise and evaluate program faculty, residents, and resources
Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding of residents
Ensure program meets accreditation standards and educational outcomes
Participate in institutional Graduate Medical Education Committee
Maintain an active clinical practice in family medicine
Qualifications
MD or DO, board certified in Family Medicine
Eligible for NY medical license and DEA
Minimum of 3 years of documented experience as a faculty member in a Family Medicine Residency Program
Proven leadership in curriculum development, teaching, mentoring, and evaluation
