Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our small yet busy primary care practice, which is led by three dedicated providers. The ideal candidate will provide both clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the office and deliver high-quality care to our patients.

Clinical Duties:

  • Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient examinations

  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints

  • Administer injections, perform EKGs, and collect lab specimens (e.g., blood, urine)

  • Conduct basic laboratory tests and ensure proper handling and documentation

  • Maintain medical equipment as necessary

  • Educate patients on medications, procedures, and health maintenance

 

Administrative Duties:

  • Greet patients and manage the check-in/check-out process for your provider's patients

  • Schedule appointments, follow up on missed visits, and coordinate referrals as needed

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EHR system for patients

  • Handle incoming calls, messages, and refill requests

  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and organized 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA/RMA)

  • 1+ years of experience in a primary care or outpatient setting preferred

  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR); experience with the willingness to learn the office EHR/CCM platform.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure

  • CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

  • Bilingual a plus (Spanish)
