Opening in June 2025, a brand new free standing emergency department opens in Ellijay and will operate as an extension of our practice at Piedmont Mountainside Emergency Department in Jasper, Georgia.

About the Role

• Annual Volume: 11,000
• Daily Physician Coverage: 24 hours/day (12-hour shifts 7a-7p-7a)
• 14 ED Beds
• Advanced imaging, lab and pharmacy on-site
• New on-site facilities include: Piedmont Mountainside Outpatient Imaging Center; Piedmont Physicians Rheumatology Mountainside; Piedmont Heart of Ellijay; Piedmont Physicians Obstetrics and Gynecology Ellijay, and Piedmont Physicians Primary Care of Ellijay
• Provide care for most emergent illnesses such as heart attack, stroke and minor trauma
• Patients requiring admission or transfer will follow the same process as they would if they were entering Piedmont Mountainside Hospital's emergency department in Jasper
• Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper offers an integrated range of services including advanced imaging, cardiac rehabilitation and cardiac catheterization, orthopedic services and general surgery; ICU, 24/7 hospitalists
• Boards: ABEM/AOBEM, or AOBIM, ABIM, ABFM, AOBFP, with significant EM experience
• Certifications: BLS/ACLS/PALS/ATLS (PALS waived for ABEM certified only, ATLS - EM board certified/eligible must take Trauma Assessment in Piedmont University; all others must maintain ATLS)
