**Locums - General Surgery - 24-Hour Call - Palestine, TX**
**WHY THIS ROLE?**
- 24-hour beeper call coverage with flexible 15-20 shifts/month
- Temporary privileges available within 1 week
- Flat rate with drive-in candidate preference
- EMR: MEDHOST
**Duration**: 7/1/2025 - Ongoing
**Coverage Type**: Call Only
**Schedule/Coverage Need**: 24-hour call, 15 20 days per month
**OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS**:
- Practice setting: Inpatient
- Call: Beeper with 30-minute response time
- Admissions required: Yes
- Will accept multiple providers: Yes
- Travel and lodging: Corporate rate available
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Board certification/eligibility: Yes
- Active state license: Yes (TX only)
- ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
- Clean history
**SKILLS NEEDED**:
- General surgery across all ages (adult, pediatric, neonate)
- Trauma and laparoscopic procedures (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty)
- Endoscopy (upper and lower)
- OB/GYN surgery including cesarean section and hysterectomy
- Vascular access procedures (AV shunt, arterial bypass, catheter placements)
- Chest tubes, central lines, ventilation management
- Pediatric surgical conditions (e.g., esophageal atresia, hernias, PDA ligation)
