Why This Role?

• Full-spectrum inpatient, outpatient, and call coverage


• Collaborative team with another interventional cardiologist on site


• Located in a regional medical hub with manageable daily census

Duration: August 2025 November 2025 (option to extend through February 2026)

Coverage Type: Clinic + Call

Schedule:

- Clinic: Mon Thu, 9:00 AM-3:30 PM; Fri, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM

- Call: 8:00 AM-8:00 AM, in rotation; Weekend call starts Friday 8:00 AM to Monday 8:00 AM

Clinical Details:

• Clinic volume: 12-15 patients/day


• Admissions: 1-2 interventional, 4 5 general/day


• EMR: Cerner


• 250-bed hospital (average daily census: 110 115)


• Level 3 trauma center with 10 ICU beds


• Support from clinical and cardiology staff during coverage

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology


• Active Iowa license


• ACLS and BLS

Skills Needed:

• Balloon angioplasties, coronary angioplasty, PCI


• Heart catheterization and coronary angiograms


• Medical management of vascular disease


• Stress echo, nuclear stress, echocardiography interpretation


• Holter/event monitors, cardioversions, TEEs
