Locums - Interventional Cardiology - Clinic - Suffolk, VA
Why This Role?
- Recurring monthly coverage needed due to provider shortage
- Inpatient-only interventional cardiology at a well-supported facility
- EMR training provided
Duration: Ongoing
Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Nights/Weekends
Schedule: 1 week per month, including 7 nights and 1 weekend per month
Clinical Details:
- 100% inpatient interventional cardiology
- Patient population: 50% adult, 50% geriatric
- Admissions/discharges vary: 2-8 per day
- Average length of stay: 2-4 days
- 15-25 patients seen on rounds
- Admissions performed by APC with provider oversight
- EMR: Epic
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
- Active VA license
- ACLS
- BLS
- ATLS
- Clean history
Skills Needed:
- Inpatient interventional cardiology procedures and rounding
- Oversight of advanced practice clinicians
- Comfort managing high-volume inpatient census
