Why This Role?

• Clinic and call responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-volume setting


• Level 1 trauma center with full inpatient and outpatient services

Duration: ASAP - Ongoing

Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call

Schedule: 7-day blocks, 1-2 weeks per month; daytime clinic with overnight beeper call

Clinical Details:

• Inpatient and outpatient ophthalmology coverage


• Clinic located on-site at a Level 1 trauma center


• Call response time: 20 minutes


• EMR: Cerner


• Secure internal paging via Voalte system


• Must have recent surgical experience

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology


• ACLS


• BLS


• Clean history


• Recent experience with ophthalmologic surgery

Skills Needed:

• General ophthalmology including surgical and non-surgical procedures


• Preferred: LASER procedures including anterior/posterior segment and YAG


• Preferred: cataract extraction with intraocular lens implant, glaucoma, corneal, and refractive procedures


• Preferred: intra-ocular injections, plastic and orbital surgery


• Preferred: interpretation of ophthalmic studies such as ultrasound, OCT, fluorescein angiography
