Why This Role?

• Ongoing GI coverage need at a trauma level 3 facility


• Clinic, endoscopy, and inpatient consult mix with low call back volume


• Supportive team of APPs and MAs in both outpatient and inpatient settings


• IMLC and Texas-licensed candidates accepted

Duration: ASAP - Ongoing

Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call

Schedule: Monday through Friday with in-house call and consult coverage

Clinical Details:

• Outpatient, inpatient, and endoscopy center coverage


• 10 to 15 patients per shift


• Call response time: 30 minutes


• Call ratio: 1:1 with <10 percent call back


• Phone consults: 3 per shift


• Hospital EMR: Athena and Medhost


• Support staff includes 2 APPs, 1 MA, and 1 office staff

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology


• Active TX license or IMLC


• ABLS


• ACLS


• ATLS


• BLS


• Clean history

Skills Needed:

• Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy


• Lower GI endoscopy including colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp removal


• ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic) - preferred


• Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) - preferred


• Esophageal dilation and manometry interpretation - preferred


• Small bowel and liver biopsies - preferred


• Flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy - preferred
