Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner - Surgical

SURGICAL PA/NP This is a dual role in the DFW metroplex between primarily spine surgery and secondarily in a medical aesthetic and wellness clinic. Hospitals and offices are primarily in the Plano and Keller areas.

 

Surgeries are mostly elective and scheduled in advance. A typical week is 2 days per week of spine surgery and 3 days a week in clinic. Clinic consists of a mix of spine surgery patients and medical aesthetic and wellness patients.

 

No experience is necessary in surgery as the surgeon will train you. The candidate should have some interest in medical aesthetics.

 

Job duties include:

 

Spine Surgery

-Assist with spine surgery - open and minimally invasive cases

-Close surgical wounds

-Help manage pre-op patients, post-op patients, and consultations

-Round on inpatients

-Manage orders

-Patient education

-Administrative duties

-Phone call responsibilities

 

Medical Aesthetics and Wellness

-Botox and Filler Injections

-Laser treatments and skin rejuvenation

-Medical weight loss program

-Medical clearance

 

No previous experience is needed as the surgeon will teach the necessary diagnostic and clinical skills but must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program. Candidates must be patient oriented, hardworking, self-motivated, have the ability to multi-task, ability to perform well under stress, adhere to clinical protocols and standards of care, and work well within a team. Travel throughout DFW is required for surgery, clinic and rounding. Health insurance and malpractice insurance provided.
