**Locums | Cardiothoracic Surgery (PA) | Clinic + Call | Wausau, WI (IMLC accepted)**
**Why This Role**
- First assist PA role with vein harvesting in a collaborative surgical team
- Low call-back burden, typically only 1-2 per month
- Long-term need with flexible ongoing scheduling
**Assignment Details**
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: Ongoing
- Coverage Type: Clinic + Call
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30a-3:00p assisting in surgery; call from 3:00p onward; weekend call rotation Friday 3:00p to Monday 6:30a
- Procedures per Day: 1-3 cardiothoracic surgeries
- Call Details: Beeper call, 20-minute response time, 1 call day per week plus 1 backup day, 1:4 weekend call rotation, 0-5% call back
- EMR: Epic
**Requirements**
- Board Certified Physician Assistant
- Active WI license or IMLC
- ACLS and BLS
- Clean history
**Clinical Details**
- Scope: Cardiothoracic surgical first assist and vein harvesting
- No hospital rounding or admission responsibilities
- Team: Minimum of 3 assistants scheduled daily, supported by RNs and surgical staff
- Setting: Inpatient cardiothoracic surgical unit with 3 dedicated beds
**Compensation**
- Rates: Facility is accepting bids
- Malpractice: Provided
- Travel: Reimbursed
