**Locums | Neurosurgery | 24-Hour Call | Des Moines, IA**
**Why This Role?**
- 24-hour call-only coverage at a Level II trauma center
- Dedicated neuro-ortho OR team and APP support
- High-acuity neurosurgical cases in a busy ER environment
**Assignment Details**
- Coverage Dates:
- Nov 24 @ 6a-Dec 1 @ 6a
- Dec 22 @ 6a-Dec 29 @ 6a
- Dec 29 @ 6a-Jan 5 @ 6a
- Coverage Type: 24-Hour Call Only
- Schedule: 7-8 consecutive days/nights per block
- EMR: Epic
**Clinical Details**
- Level II Trauma | Annual ER Volume: 65,000
- Avg: 1 surgical case per day
- Adult patients only
- Neurosurgical team: 4 neurosurgeons + dedicated OR staff and APPs
- EPIC EMR
**Requirements**
- Board certified or board eligible (ABNS)
- Active IA license or IMLC/LOQ
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, NALS or ATLS certifications
- Must be available for **all listed coverage dates**
- Experience with trauma and adult neurosurgery required
- Must be confident with spinal, lumbar, and thoracic instrumentation
**Skills Needed**
- Cranial: Burr holes, hemorrhage management, shunts, tumor/trauma repair
- Stereotactic radiosurgery, ICP/CPP management, ventricular taps, EVDs
- Spine: Discectomy, laminectomy, fusions, stabilization, lumbar drains
