Job Summary:

HCA Healthcare Anesthesia Services is currently seeking a BE/BC Anesthesiologist to become the Facility Medical Director at Johnston-Willis Medical Center in Richmond, VA. This is a growing team that is well supported by staff, clinical and facility leadership.
The Facility Medical Director will work collaboratively with the Operations team, Hospital Administration and APP leadership to carry out the Group’s mission of maintaining a mutually respectful work environment, leading by example and a sharing a genuine love of providing excellent patient care.

Ideal candidate will be highly skilled in communication, relationship building, and be able to represent the Anesthesia department as a true partner within the organization. Responsibilities include assuring the highest standards of healthcare delivery and outcomes, employee satisfaction and retention as well as monitoring efficiencies and quality metrics. Previous leadership experience required.

Qualifications/Highlights of Opportunity:
  • Anesthesia Care Team model of 6 Anesthesiologists and 19 CRNAs covering 20 sites of service.
  • Diverse mix of cases including Bread & Butter, Complex Neuro/Spine, OB, GYN, General, heavy orthopedics, Robotics and GI.
  • Annual surgical volume 17,000 cases.
  • Must be proficient in Regional Anesthesia.
  • Average work week 45-50 hours in house.
  • Call shifts are split equally amongst the team:
    • First Call:  in-house from 6p-7a on weekdays and 7a-7a on Weekends and weekday holidays. Post call day off.
    • Second Call- Back-up call from home, 6p-7a on weekdays and 7a-7a on weekends and weekday holidays. First out.
    • Calls picked up beyond contracted numbers garner additional compensation.
