Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – Anesthesiology
• Job Type: Permanent – Full-Time
• Location: Carlisle, PA
• Service Setting: Hospital and Outpatient Surgery Center
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (5×8s per week)
• On-Call Expectations: None (occasional support for overflow or emergent procedures)
• Start Date: October 1, 2025

COVERAGE NEED DETAILS
• 2 providers serving as primary support for the elective surgical schedule across 11 locations, rotating between the main OR, surgery center, and Labor & Delivery.
• Full-time coverage is especially needed on Mondays and Fridays.
• Estimated Shifts per Month: 20

PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE
• Patient Demographics: Adults (90%), Pediatrics (10%)
• Average Daily Volume / Census: Approximately 25 cases per day
• Admissions & Rounding: Not routine; primarily procedure-focused
• Consults & Follow-Ups: As needed
• Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: Bread-and-butter anesthesia, obstetrics (C-sections and spinals), outpatient surgery, inpatient ICU intubations

FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS
• Beds in Department/Unit: 165 beds total; 7 ORs in main hospital, 3 ORs in surgery center
• EMR System: Epic
• Specialty Backup: 100% medical supervision model
• Support Staff: Anesthesia care team model with physicians and other CRNAs
• Leadership & Reporting Structure: Reports to Anesthesia Department Medical Director
• Reason for Opening: Turnover vacancy

CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE
• Board Requirements: Board Certified CRNA
• DEA & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPR required
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Board Status: Board Certified CRNA
• State License Required: Active Pennsylvania CRNA license or eligibility to obtain
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, CPR
• Experience: New graduates welcome; obstetrics experience required
• Additional Requirements: Proficiency in spinals, airway management, MAC, and general anesthesia

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide anesthesia care for surgical and obstetric patients in hospital and surgery center settings
• Perform spinals, airway management, MAC, and general anesthesia
• Assist with obstetric cases, including C-sections and spinal placements
• Collaborate with physicians and perioperative staff in a team-based model
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
