Locums Neonatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Locums Neonatology Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join a Level III NICU team in Syracuse, NY. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality care to neonates in a collaborative and supportive environment.

 

Position Details:

 

• Practice Setting: Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Schedule: Flexible scheduling options available
• Patient Population: Neonates requiring advanced critical care
• Coverage Type: Inpatient, NICU 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Manage patients independently within a Level III NICU
• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill neonates
• Perform required procedures including:
• Ventilation management (invasive ETT and non-invasive BiPAP/CPAP)
• Chest tube insertion
• Exchange transfusions
• UAC/UVC placement
• Lumbar punctures (LPs)
• Central and arterial line placement
• Diagnostic and therapeutic taps
• Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues
• Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and other NICU staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes 

Requirements:

 

• Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active New York State License (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Demonstrated experience and confidence in independently managing NICU patients
• Strong procedural skills relevant to a Level III NICU environment
